The Small-Scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) is the financial incentive provided by the Government. The solar power system can create a Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) that can be sold to offset the price of the system incurred by the user. These STCs have replaced the Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Feed in tariffs is another type of benefit that provides on-going financial incentives rather than an upfront price reduction. These tariffs may vary, so it is best to first check the rate per kilowatt of power with your electricity retailer.
